Coveted Location

One Ocean is situated on Hawai‘i Island’s Kohala Coast between stirring views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa—and just 20 miles north of Kona International Airport. Enjoy easy access to the entire coastal region, from the beautiful ranchlands of Waimea to the north, to the lively seaside town of Kailua-Kona to the south.

A Storied Land

Walk in the footsteps where royalty once strode along two historic trails. To the east, the Ala Loa or King’s Trail was often reserved for chiefly affairs. Along the shoreline, the Ala Kahakai (trail by the sea) is part of an extensive foot trail that connected ancient villages. These revered lands of Mauna Lani are the piko, or spiritual center, of Hawai‘i’s five great mountains. From here, the mountains of Hualālai, Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, Kohala and Maui’s Haleakalā are all visible in the distance.

Tower Development

Guiding the creation of One Ocean is Tower Development, a leading Hawai‘i real estate development firm. Founded in 1998 on the principle of integrity through aloha in every dealing and relationship, the company creates environmentally respectful legacy projects that make a positive impact on Hawaiian communities. Tower Development also provides pro-bono real estate advisory work for churches and schools in need, benefiting Hawai‘i’s next generation of children.

Clifford Planning & Architecture

One Ocean’s architectural vernacular is the work of Dr. Janine Shinoki Clifford, president of Honolulu-based Clifford Planning & Architecture. Born and raised in Hawai‘i, and holding a doctorate in design from Harvard Design School, she has 20+ years of experience in a wide variety of urban design, planning, architectural and interior design projects—including the design of some of Hawai‘i’s most celebrated private homes.
